VP of Budget, Finance Terry Pankratz To Retire Jan. 31
January 22, 2025
Terry Pankratz, UT Dallas’ vice president for budget and finance, has announced that he will retire on Jan. 31.
“We wish Terry all the best, while recognizing that his departure will be a significant loss for UT Dallas,” said UT Dallas President Richard C. Benson, the Eugene McDermott Distinguished University Chair of Leadership. “Throughout his time at UTD, Terry has continually worked to streamline business operations, improve financial transparency and strengthen our University’s financial health.”
Pankratz assumed his position at UT Dallas in 2013, after serving as vice chancellor of finance for the University of North Texas System and chief financial officer for Texas A&M University.
In his role, Pankratz has provided leadership of the University’s financial functions including accounting and financial reporting, budgeting and financial planning, payroll, procurement and payment services, contracting, the bursar office, central business office, treasury services, and shared information services.
“It has been an honor to be a part of the University administration these last 12 years,” Pankratz said. “I am very proud of the significant contributions the Office of Budget and Finance made to stabilize and improve the University’s business operations and financial health during this time of rapid enrollment growth.”
Benson has named Orkun Toros, associate vice president for budget and finance, to be the interim vice president from Feb. 1 until the time that a permanent successor to Pankratz is selected.
“Terry’s work has touched numerous areas at UTD. We are so fortunate he decided to come to UT Dallas; his shoes will be quite difficult to fill,” Benson said.
Campus staff and faculty are invited to a reception for Pankratz on Wednesday, Jan. 29, from 1 to 2 p.m. in the Amistad Conference Room (SP2 12.216).
