Crow Museum Offers Discounted Tickets for Indigo Dyeing Workshop

February 19, 2025

UT Dallas employees and the Comet community are invited to dive into the art of indigo dyeing with a hands-on workshop put on by the Crow Museum of Asian Art, Saturday, March 8 from 1 to 3:30 p.m. at the Edith and Peter O’Donnell Jr. Athenaeum.

The event will be led by textile designer and multidisciplinary creative Mili Suleman, who founded Dallas textile shop KUFRI in 2013. Participants will explore a variety of ancient shibori techniques and the process of indigo vat dyeing.

Gain practical knowledge about creating an indigo vat, experiment with different shibori techniques and get an exclusive experience in the Crow exhibition, “Indigo Threads: Weaving Stories from the Montgomery Collection,” with an artist Q&A. By the end of the class, you will take home your own handmade banana silk shibori bandana.

Discounted tickets for UTD faculty, staff, students and Crow members are $30.
