Session To Discuss Embracing AI for Teaching
January 22, 2025
The UTD Center for Teaching and Learning is holding an in-person watch party and discussion, focused on Embracing AI as Essential Learning.
The event will be held Wednesday, Feb. 12 from 3:15 to 5 p.m.
Drawing from his new book, Teaching with AI: A Practical Guide to a New Era of Human Learning, in a live-streamed keynote, Dr. C. Edward Watson will detail the challenges and opportunities that have emerged for higher education, especially in terms of pedagogical practice and student learning.
Watson is vice president for digital innovation with the American Association of Colleges and Universities and former director of the Center for Teaching and Learning at the University of Georgia. He is nationally recognized for his expertise in general education best practice and reform, evidence-based teaching and learning practices, and as a futurist for higher education.
The keynote will offer concrete approaches and strategies that higher education can adopt, both within the classroom and across larger curricular structures, to best prepare students for the life that awaits them after graduation.
UT Dallas faculty, staff and students will watch in person as we livestream his keynote from the Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board Digital Learning Summit. Stay for a discussion about the keynote.
RSVP by Feb. 7. The event will be held at the CTL Workspace (MC 2.404) and popcorn and soda will be available while supplies last. The watch party is open to all faculty, staff, graduate teaching assistants and post-doctoral researchers.
Participation in this workshop fulfills part of the requirements for the Graduate Teaching Certificate and Postdoctoral Teaching Certificate programs.
