Annual Performance Appraisals Due May 31
January 22, 2025
The Office of Human Resources is reminding supervisors that performance appraisals are due May 31.
The annual performance appraisal process provides an opportunity for employees to review and discuss progress, performance and workplace behaviors that furthers our shared University mission. The University’s appraisal processes are unique to employee roles. Performance appraisal resources are available on the Performance Appraisals page.
Faculty
For calendar year (CY) 2024, the Office of the Provost has developed a Faculty Electronic Appraisal Form for all tenure-system and non-tenure-system faculty, as well as for senior lecturers, clinical faculty, professors of instruction and professors of practice. For questions, please email Dr. Sean Cotter.
Lecturers
Annual appraisals for lecturers I and II should continue to be submitted via Box accounts.
Teaching Assistants, Research Assistants, Graduate Assistants
Appraisals for teaching assistants (TAs), research assistants (RAs) and graduate assistants (GAs) continue to be managed through the Office of Graduate Education. For assistance, please email Krystel Kaloust.
Staff
All staff performance appraisals for classified, administrative and professional (A&P), temporary and temporary benefits eligible positions must be submitted using the Electronic Performance (ePerformance) Appraisal portal. Supervisors can choose to utilize the annual form in the portal or upload an HR-approved departmental form or memo. Instructions for supervisors and employees on how to access, complete, upload, submit and review forms can be found on the Performance Appraisals page.
Please note the following:
- Annual appraisals should be completed for staff who worked in CY 2024 and are currently employed.
- Probationary appraisals submitted in the fourth quarter of CY 2024 (October to December) meet the requirements for staff annual appraisal process. Supervisors do not need to complete both an annual and probationary appraisal in this case.
- Staff who begin employment with UT Dallas in CY 2025 should have probationary performance appraisals submitted at the following milestones — 30, 90 and 180 days.
- Appraisals are not required for regular student workers, employees at less than .25 full-time equivalent (FTE) or a temporary appointment lasting less than 4.5 months.
