Visitor Center Positioned for Success in New North Campus Spot

July 9, 2025

The UT Dallas Visitor Center is relocating to north campus. When it opens on Monday, July 14, the expanded space and convenient location will make an even more positive impact on prospective Comets.

Previously located near the Activity Center, the visitor hub will be at 2830 Rutford Ave., part of Parking Structure 3.

“Our tours are becoming more popular and continue to grow, so this space will better accommodate the increased traffic,” said Lilia Ivy, director of the Visitor Center.

Since last August, the Visitor Center has welcomed more than 8,600 prospective students on campus tours and nearly 7,000 additional students through group tours, which accommodate larger groups of high school students and other visitors.

In addition to the increased space, Ivy said the new location provides easy access to tour campus housing and visit buildings in the center of campus.

Ingrid London BS’07, MS’16, assistant provost for enrollment operations, said the new Visitor Center location will help the overall goal of her office — to make students and families feel welcome and, ultimately, to increase enrollment at UTD.

“For many families, the Visitor Center and the campus tour are the first impression they get of UT Dallas,” she said. “Anything we can do to improve that initial experience will positively contribute to the students’ decisions about which university they want to attend.”
